Welcome to Bleeding Hearts Valley

 

I’ve been cryptically talking about BHV for a while now while I wrote I Saw You Sweetheart, but never shared much as so much of the project was still being figured out. Well, we have some things nailed down now, and it’s time to spill!

Bleeding Hearts Valley is a little (fictional) midwestern suburb where a group of writers have set a collection of novels. This town is full of dark secrets and hidden nooks and crannies.

 

The collection of standalone stories will begin this summer and continue on through next year (maybe longer!) My book, I Saw You Sweetheart, is among the first to come out and will be released on August 22nd. 

 

 

It follows Hazel Price, a young woman who has been held hostage for the past four years. She only remembers snippets of the night that lead to her disappearance and the novel unfolds in a dual timeline as she pieces together her memory. Nothing is as it seems, and she quickly learns there is no one she can trust.

 

It’s a little hard to talk about without hinting at the mid-point twist, but I am so eager to get it in the hands of readers. The group behind BHV, and the amazing authors that signed up to write for the collection, have been such a great motivator. Everyone is there for the same reason—we love thrillers! AND we love supporting other indie authors. 

 

There’s so much positivity in the group, even when tragedy struck and one of the founders passed away unexpectedly. You don’t realize how important internet friends are until they stop logging on. In true writer fashion, we’ve woven Carmen into the very building of BHV... cannon said that the first mayor’s wife named the town, now that woman has a name - Carmen and a memorial in our town.

As excited as I am for ISYS to come out, I’m equally excited to read all the other stories in the collection. So far we have: Unhinged by Danielle Fear and An Abrupt Departure by P.D. Workman on the schedule. With books from M.A. Green, Rachel Graham, C.P. Carroll, Edward Barba, Sara Lea, Ashley Beegan, and more!
